The Anatomy of MR BREAKFAST

I'm not sure whether this guy is good or bad... cool or weird... hungry or thirsty. But I do know that's one sweet yukata!

Vital Statistics of MR BREAKFAST

Voiced by: Kinoshita Alvin ( https://x.com/kinosita_arvin)

Height: 6 foot 1 Inch / 187cm (with geta)

Eyes: Black

Blood Type: Yolk

Likes: Eggs, eggs and more eggs!

Dislikes: Poor craftsmanship, fast-food

Employment: MR BREAKFAST owns the restaurant chain EGG IS LIFE.

Reason for Entering Marathon:

To guide him through life MR BREAKFAST uses an ancient technique passed down through his family for many generations. When at a crossroads in life, a Tamago Gakusha (one trained in the art of Ranpaku Uranai or ‘Egg-white Fortune Telling’) can crack an egg allowing only the egg-white to land in a hot pan, the shape of the quickly solidifying egg is said to represent the true path of destiny.

After MR BREAKFAST recently received a 3-star Michelin rating for the EGG IS LIFE restaurant in Ginzaya-Cho he sought a new goal and quickly began the Ranpaku Uranai ceremony. As the ceremony is a personal and solitary affair nobody but MR BREAKFAST knows exactly what shape the egg-white took, but moments later he set out to enter the Nippon Marathon.

That's all we know about him right now, but I'm sure the eventual Story Mode will take us on a wild, egg-related adventure!

SENSATIONAL SCREENSHOTS

For this week's screenshots we'll be focusing on MR BREAKFAST, these were stolen from Onion Soup's development PC while they weren't looking. Shh! Don't tell!

Two people in colorful outfits pose joyfully under an orange arch reading "YOKO HARBOUR." The background features trees and buildings.

Where's the SOUNDTRACK?

I've been pestering the developers to give me an update on the whereabouts of the OST, mostly they've only grunted at me and shooed me away but today they sent me this as an appetiser:

Wait... it's the music from Yolko Harbour?! Awesome! That'll do for now, maybe they'll release the whole thing next week?

DISCORD DISCO

In this week's Discord Disco I want to summarise a conversation between developer H_Hazuki and user/social media guy Abdul Rehman.

Abdul jumped in to say:

"For anyone interested in playing on the go, I just tested on the Steam Deck and it works out of the box! Didn't have to tinker with anything--was able to get a smooth gameplay session..." and " [NM2] is infinitely more playable than some of the games I have seen getting the Playable label"

To which H_Hazuki replied:

"we're actively making sure it runs well on SD, making sure the UI scales to 9:10 properly too, thanks so much for your feedback"

So there you have it Steam Deck users, you can get your game on without any hassle!
